Regular Season Round 7: Leitershofen - Licher Baeren 63-77

The biggest surprise of round 7 in ProB was guest Licher Baeren's (4-3) road victory over 7th ranked Leitershofen (3-4) 77-63 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Licher Baeren. Leitershofen managed to win third quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Licher Baeren made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Licher Baeren outrebounded Leitershofen 43-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Jermale Jones (186-86, college: Tuskegee) fired 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Jason Swanson (201-86, college: W.Alabama) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Licher Baeren players scored in double figures. Guard Lindsey Hughey (190-89, college: Weber St.) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds and forward Parnell Smith (200-84, college: Buffalo) added 20 points and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Licher Baeren moved-up to third place in Group South, which they share with 3 other teams. Leitershofen at the other side dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Licher Baeren is looking forward to face TSV Troester (#12) in Breitenguessbach in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Leitershofen will play on the road against Fraport Skyliners II in Frankfurt and is hoping to win this game.
