Rather expected game when 9th ranked Craiova (3-6) lost on the road to seventh ranked Alexandria (5-4) 64-53. Craiova was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Alexandria forced 27 Craiova turnovers. American forward Ashley Arlen (187-90, college: Wayne St., NE, agency: Gamble Sports Management) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Chelsea Lyons (175, college: Wisc.-Green Bay) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side Serbian center Zorica Mitov (189-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds and the former international center Gabriela Toma (192-74) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four Craiova players scored in double figures. Alexandria moved-up to sixth place. Craiova lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with Sp.Studentesc and Rapid. Alexandria will play against Cluj Napoca (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Craiova will play against Brasov (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
