Very important is a road loss of third ranked BBC Bayreuth (5-3) against fourth ranked EWE Baskets (6-2) on Sunday night. Visiting BBC Bayreuth was crushed by EWE Baskets in Oldenburg 71-50. The game without a history. EWE Baskets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held BBC Bayreuth to an opponent 24.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.1 percent accuracy of the winners and made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. EWE Baskets forced 22 BBC Bayreuth turnovers. The winners were led by American power forward Adam Chubb (208-81, college: Pennsylvania, agency: Pro One Sports) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import forward Ronnie Burrell (204-83, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Pro One Sports) supported him with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Even 9 points and 6 rebounds by center Stefan Schmidt (206-89) did not help to save the game for BBC Bayreuth. International guard Nicolai Simon (190-87) added 8 points and 5 rebounds for the guests.
