Regular Season Round 4: Sakarya - Balcova 66-68

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Sakarya (0-4) was edged at home by fourth ranked Balcova (3-1) 68-66 on Sunday. Sakarya was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 20-15 charge of Balcova, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 21 Sakarya turnovers and had a 32-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Sakarya was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Sinem Kafali (-94) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 9 rebounds and Ece Yenibayrak (-93) who added 19 points during the contest. Balcova's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side Burce Akkaya (-84) responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds and guard Gizem Unluer (172-88) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. Balcova moved-up to third place in Group C, which they share with Edirne. Sakarya at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Balcova will face league's leader Cankaya in Ankara in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sakarya will play at home against Nigde Turk Telekom (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
