Regular Season Round 8: Fraport SKY - NY Phantoms 61-59
Date: November 11, 2012
A very interesting game took place in Frankfurt. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 16th ranked New Yorker Phantoms (2-6) to fifteenth ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (3-5) 61-59 on Sunday evening. 25 personal fouls committed by New Yorker Phantoms helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American swingman Dion Dowell (200-85, college: Houston) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import guard Quantez Robertson (189-84, college: Auburn) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Robertson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Deutsche Bank Skyliners players scored in double figures. American point guard Jeremiah Davis (183-81, college: Pacific) replied with 13 points and 5 rebounds and British-Ghanian center Eric Boateng (208-85, college: Arizona St., agency: Interperformances) added 8 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for New Yorker Phantoms. New Yorker Phantoms' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Neckar L'burg and Phoenix Hagen. New Yorker Phantoms lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with six games lost. Deutsche Bank Skyliners' next round opponent will be higher ranked ALBA Berlin (#7) on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. New Yorker Phantoms will play against Walter Tigers (#15) in Tuebingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
