Regular Season Round 9: Karlsruhe - Heidelberg 75-82

The game between third ranked BG Karlsruhe (6-3) and eighth ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (5-3) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. BG Karlsruhe was defeated by MLP Academics Heidelberg in a tough game in Karlsruhe 75-82. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-75. It was a good game for power forward Oliver Komarek (210-86) who led his team to a victory with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Canadian guard Tristan Blackwood (183-85) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Forward Rouven Roessler (200-80) answered with 19 points and 4 assists and forward Nils Menck (203-82) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for BG Karlsruhe. Five MLP Academics Heidelberg and four BG Karlsruhe players scored in double figures. MLP Academics Heidelberg moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Vechta. BG Karlsruhe at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. MLP Academics Heidelberg is looking forward to face NBC (#7) in Nurnberg in the next round. BG Karlsruhe will play on the road against the league's leader BG Goettingen (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
