Regular Season Round 8: MBC - ALBA 68-91
Date: November 11, 2012
Very predictable result in Weissenfels where tenth ranked ALBA Berlin (4-2) smashed 17th ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (2-7) 91-68 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by ALBA Berlin. Mitteldeutscher BC was better in fourth quarter 26-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ALBA Berlin dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Mitteldeutscher BC's 24. Mitteldeutscher BC was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Zach Morley (203-83, college: Wisconsin) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Bosnian forward Nihad Djedovic (198-90, agency: Beo Basket) who added 15 points and 4 assists during the contest. American forward Devin Uskoski (201-85, college: Rocky Mountain) responded with 17 points and center Phillipp Heyden (206-88) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. ALBA Berlin moved-up to seventh place. Newly promoted Mitteldeutscher BC keeps the seventeenth position with seven games lost. ALBA Berlin will face Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#14) in Frankfurt in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mitteldeutscher BC will play on the road against BBC Bayreuth.
