Regular Season Round 9: Ternopil - Tornado 80-94

Bottom-ranked Ternopil-TNEU is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to fourth ranked Tornado (4-2) 94-80. The game was mostly controlled by Tornado. Ternopil-TNEU was better in second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tornado players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. Guard Sergey Lapenko (196-85) stepped up and scored 20 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and forward Igor Meshcheryakov (204-86) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Tornado's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was center Nikita Lange (202-92) with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Anton Nifonton (190-89) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tornado maintains fourth place with 4-2 record. Ternopil-TNEU lost their sixth game in a row. They still closes the standings with six games lost. Tornado will play against league's leader Musson in Symferopil in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ternopil-TNEU will play on the road against VolinBasket (#6) in Lutsk and hopes to get finally their first victory.
