Regular Season Round 21: Cherkasy - BC Kyiv 78-68

There was no surprise when 13th ranked BC Kyiv (3-10) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Cherkasy (5-8) 78-68. The game was mostly controlled by Cherkasy. BC Kyiv was better in fourth quarter 25-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American forward Charles Thomas (203-86, college: Arkansas) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Denis Ikovlev (201-86, college: Nevada, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Cherkasy's coach Jovica Arsic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Anthony Goods (191-87, college: Stanford) answered with 16 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and British point guard Justin Robinson (187-87, college: Rider, agency: Two Points) added 16 points in the effort for BC Kyiv. Cherkasy maintains ninth place with 5-8 record, which they share with Mykolaiv. BC Kyiv at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with ten games lost. They share it with BC Odessa. Cherkasy will play against higher ranked Kryvbasbasket (#8) in Krivoy Rog in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BC Kyiv will play on the road against Hoverla (#6) in Frankivsk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
