Regular Season Round 8: BSW Sixers - MTV Wolfenbuettel 76-70

Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (3-5) lost to fifth ranked BSW Sixers (5-3) in Sandersdorf 70-76 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Herzoege Wolfenbuettel won third quarter 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BSW Sixers had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Power forward Ralph Schirmer (203-86) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. American center Paul Harrison (203-89, college: N.Greenville) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Four BSW Sixers players scored in double figures. BSW Sixers' coach Stephen Arigbabu used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Frank Theis (200-82) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Henje Knopke (193-85) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Herzoege Wolfenbuettel. BSW Sixers moved-up to third place in Group North, which they share with Herten Lions. Loser Herzoege Wolfenbuettel dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. BSW Sixers will face BSV Wulfen (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel will play against RSV Eintracht in Stahnsdorf.
