Regular Season Round 5: Nallihan - Botas 59-57

The most exciting game of round 5 in the TKB2L took place in Ankara. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Botas (3-2) to leader Nallihan (5-0) 59-57 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Botas. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Botas won fourth quarter 19-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American power forward Sharon Houston (191-88, college: Indiana NW) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 23 rebounds for the winners and Dilek Topdemir (-92) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. Nallihan's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Center Tilbe Senyurek (188-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 23 rebounds and Busra Akgun (183-93) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Nallihan have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of Group A leader, which they share with Altay Konak. Newly promoted Botas dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Dizdar. Nallihan is looking forward to face Celtispor (#10) in Bursa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Botas will play at home against Dizdar (#5) in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
