Baskent Genclik's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after six consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Bandirma Kir. (2-5) 61-57 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 16-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for American forward KZell Wesson (201-77, college: La Salle) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Aubrey Reese (183-78, college: Murray St., agency: Interperformances) accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Baskent Genclik's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Raymond Sykes (206-86, college: Clemson, agency: Three Eye Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks and point guard Yigitcan Turna (187-87) added 14 points respectively for Bandirma Kir. in the defeat. Baskent Genclik maintains seventeenth place with 1-6 record. It was Bandirma Kir.'s third loss in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with five games lost. They share it with Istanbulspor. Baskent Genclik will meet higher ranked Trabzonspor (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bandirma Kir. will play against Maliye Milli (#5) in Ankara and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the TBL just one year after relegation.
