Regular Season Round 7: Maliye Milli - Pi Koleji 88-85

Important game to mention about took place in Ankara. Fifth ranked Maliye Milli (5-2) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 12th ranked Pi Koleji (3-4) 88-85 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Pi Koleji was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 22-16 charge of Maliye Milli, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for American guard Zach Graham (198-89, college: Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import guard Derek Williams (185-85, college: SMU, agency: Pro One Sports) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Maliye Milli players scored in double figures. Croatian power forward Nenad Delic (210-84) answered with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Serhan Kavut (189-81) added 18 points in the effort for Pi Koleji. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Maliye Milli. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Vestel and Usak. Loser Pi Koleji dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Maliye Milli will face Bandirma Kir. (#15) in Balikesir in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Pi Koleji will play at home against Balikesir (#6).
