There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Oettinger Rockets Gotha (3-7) won against higher ranked ETB Wohnbau (4-6) in Essen 90-79 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Oettinger Rockets Gotha looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Quite impressive performance for guard Jan Lipke (193-83, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 4 assists. Forward Leo Niebuhr (208-86) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Oettinger Rockets Gotha players scored in double figures. American forward Logan Stutz (205-88, college: Washburn) replied with 28 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import Joey Henley (196-85, college: Sacred Heart) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for ETB Wohnbau. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Oettinger Rockets Gotha moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Crailsheim. Loser ETB Wohnbau dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Oettinger Rockets Gotha will face league's second-placed BG Karlsruhe at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
