Date: November 17, 2012
Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Cluj Napoca (3-7) was rolled over on the road by sixth ranked Alexandria (6-4) 89-47. The game without a history. Alexandria led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Cluj Napoca to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Alexandria dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Cluj Napoca's 26. American guard Chelsea Lyons (175, college: Wisc.-Green Bay) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Hungarian center Andrea Vincze (190-89) answered with 13 points and 5 rebounds and center Andreea Pop (180-90) added 11 points in the effort for Cluj Napoca. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Alexandria maintains sixth place with 6-4 record, which they share with Alba Iulia. Cluj Napoca lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. Alexandria's next round opponent will be Targu Mures (#9) on the road. Cluj Napoca will play against Craiova in Craiova and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
