Bottom-ranked Rilski Sportist is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to second ranked Dunav 8806 (5-1) 89-51 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Dunav 8806 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Rilski Sportist's 26. Dunav 8806 forced 24 Rilski Sportist turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Kristina Santiago (185-89, college: Cal Poly - SLO, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Estonian swingman Merike Anderson (180-81, agency: LBM Management) accounted for 15 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Dunav 8806's coach Georgi Bozhkov felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Anne Farrell (187-88, college: Centenary, LA, agency: Global Sports Plaza) came up with 12 points and 9 rebounds and guard Teodora Dineva (175-96) added 14 points respectively for Rilski Sportist in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Dunav 8806. Defending champion maintains second place with 5-1 record behind leader Neftochimic. Rilski Sportist lost their sixth game in a row. They still closes the standings with six games lost. Dunav 8806 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rilski Sportist will play against Montana 2003 (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
