Regular Season Round 11: Satu Mare - ICIM Arad 81-75

There was a change at the Division A leadership position after last games. Round 11 most important game was a defeat of league's leader ICIM Arad (10-1). They were defeated by second ranked Satu Mare (10-1) 81-75 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of ICIM Arad. It was a key game for the top position in the league. ICIM Arad was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 23-13 charge of Satu Mare, which allowed them to win the game. Satu Mare outrebounded ICIM Arad 43-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for international guard Annemarie Parau (170-84) who led her team to a victory scoring 23 points and 6 assists. American power forward Shanika Freeman (186-83, college: Jacksonville St.) helped adding 22 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Chrissy Givens (180-85, college: Middle Tenn.St.) responded with 31 points and 6 rebounds and the former international swingman Monika Boriga (176-74) scored 11 points and 5 assists. Satu Mare have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with defeated ICIM Arad. ICIM Arad will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Satu Mare will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Timisoara at home.
