Regular Season Round 7: Ovarense - GDESSA 57-78

Liga Feminina top team - GDESSA (6-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Ovarense (0-7) 78-57. The game was mostly controlled by GDESSA. Ovarense was better in fourth quarter 19-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. GDESSA forced 24 Ovarense turnovers. It was a quality performance for American guard Tyeasha Moss (175-90, college: Xavier) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 4 assists. Guard Laura Ferreira (177-95) accounted for 11 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Four GDESSA players scored in double figures. Ana Raimundo came up with 24 points and Gabriela Raimundo added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Ovarense in the defeat. They maintain first place with 6-1 record. Newly promoted Ovarense still closes the standings with seven games lost. GDESSA will play against CDTorres N. (#8) in Torres Novas in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ovarense will play on the road against Boa Viagem (#6) in Angra Heroismo and hopes to get finally their first victory.
