Regular Season Round 5: Botas - Kayseri 60-68

An interesting game for Kayseri (5-0) which played road game in Adana against 4th placed Botas (3-2). Leader Kayseri managed to get a 8-point victory 68-60. Botas was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 40-31 second half run of Kayseri. They also forced 20 Botas turnovers. The best player for the winners was naturalized American LaToya Sanders (191-86, college: N.Carolina) who scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Greek forward Evanthia Maltsi (180-78, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Kayseri players scored in double figures. American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import forward Christi Thomas (191-82, college: Georgia) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Botas' coach Olcay Orak tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Kayseri have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Fenerbahce. Botas at the other side keeps the fourth place with two games lost. Kayseri's next round opponent will be Canik Bld (#7) in Samsun which should be theoretically an easy game. Botas will play on the road against Edremit in Balikesir.
