Regular Season Round 10: Siauliai - Nevezis 71-78

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Siauliai (4-1) at the home court on Monday night. Hosts were defeated by ninth ranked Nevezis (3-4) 78-71. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Siauliai. Siauliai was trailing by 11 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 22-13 charge of Nevezis, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 20 Siauliai turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St., agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. The former international center Darius Silinskis (216-84, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Nevezis players scored in double figures. Senegalese forward Papa Dia (208-87, college: SMU) replied with 20 points and 6 rebounds and guard Laurynas Samenas (192-88) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Siauliai. Nevezis have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Pieno Zvaigzdes. Siauliai at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. Nevezis is looking forward to face higher ranked Juventus (#3) in Utena in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Siauliai will play on the road against Neptunas in Klaipeda and is hoping to win this game.
