Regular Season Round 8: Usak - Gelisim 81-78

The most exciting game of round 8 in the TB2L took place in Usak. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Gelisim (4-4) to third ranked Usak (6-2) 81-78 on Wednesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. American guard Michael Porrini (187-89, college: Kent St.) responded with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and Feyzi Celebioglu (-88) scored 17 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gelisim's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Usak maintains third position with 6-2 record behind leader Darussafaka, which they share with Maliye Milli. Gelisim at the other side dropped to the ninth place with four games lost. They share the position with Pertevniyal and Yesilgiresun. Usak is looking forward to face Istanbul B.B. (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gelisim will play against Istanbulspor (#16) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
