Another interesting game for Artland Dragons (7-3) which played on the court of BBC Bayreuth (6-4). Fourth ranked Artland Dragons had an easy win 88-78. BBC Bayreuth was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Artland Dragons made 27-of-32 charity shots (84.4 percent) during the game. BBC Bayreuth was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Cypriot power forward Anthony King (206-85, college: Miami, FL, agency: Interperformances) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian center Petar Popovic (211-79) chipped in 17 points during the contest. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Jason Cain (208-85, college: Virginia) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and international guard Nicolai Simon (190-87) scored 12 points and 4 assists. BBC Bayreuth's coach tested eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Artland Dragons have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with EWE Baskets. BBC Bayreuth at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Artland Dragons will play against Walter Tigers (#14) in Tuebingen in the next round which should be an easy win for them. BBC Bayreuth will play on the road against Phoenix Hagen (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
