No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Tundja Yambol (4-2) smashed at home 9th ranked Spartak Pleven (1-5) 92-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Tundja Yambol. Spartak Pleven managed to win third quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tundja Yambol dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak Pleven's 16. Tundja Yambol forced 20 Spartak Pleven turnovers and outrebounded them 40-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. American forward Brian Ormon (201-84, college: Mountain St.) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Stoyo Cholakov (190-87) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Tundja Yambol players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Dimitar Marintchechki (201-90, agency: Dynamics Global Management) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and guard Rosen Sofroniev (193-80) scored 18 points and 4 steals. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tundja Yambol moved-up to second place, which they share with Levski Sofia and Rilski Sportist. Spartak Pleven lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. Tundja Yambol will meet league's second-placed Rilski Sportist in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Spartak Pleven will play against Chernomorets (#6) in Burgas.
