Everything went according to plan when first ranked SG Schwelmer Baskets (8-1) outplayed at home 6th ranked Hannover Tigers (4-5) 101-79 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 101-79. SG Schwelmer Baskets shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Hannover Tigers' players. It was a good game for center Andreas Kronhardt (204-89) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Lars Wendt (190-92, agency: Limelight Hoops) contributed with 24 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four SG Schwelmer Baskets players scored in double figures. Nigerian-American center Michael Fakuade (201-89, college: Ill.-Springfield, agency: N.E.T.) answered with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 blocks and swingman Jan-Peter Prasuhn (198-82) added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Hannover Tigers. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SG Schwelmer Baskets have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group North with 8-1 record, which they share with Rist Wedel. Hannover Tigers at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. SG Schwelmer Baskets will face Oldenburg (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hannover Tigers will play against Recklinghausen (#8).
