Regular Season Round 9: Hanau - Bayer Giants 93-97 OT

Second-best Hanau (5-4) fell to seventh ranked Bayer Giants (5-4) in overtime by four points 93-97 on Saturday night. The game took place in Hanau. But the guests from Leverkusen were better at the end. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime then Hanau managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Bayer Giants who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 18-14. It was a good game for American point guard Adonte Parker (183-89, college: Dayton) who led his team to a victory with 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import Jack Eggleston (203-88, college: Pennsylvania, agency: Pro One Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners. Indian-American point guard Anish Sharda (188-82, college: St.Mary's, KS) answered with 22 points and 8 assists and American Lionel Sullivan (201-87, college: Northwood) added 17 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Hanau. Five Hanau players scored in double figures. Bayer Giants have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place in Group South, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Hanau. Hanau lost third consecutive game. Bayer Giants will face league's leader Dragons Rhoendorf on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hanau will play against Noerdlingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
