Regular Season Round 9: Wulfen - BSW Sixers 95-79

There was an upset when 4th placed BSW Sixers (5-4) lost on the road to tenth ranked BSV Wulfen (3-6) 95-79 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by BSV Wulfen. BSW Sixers was better in fourth quarter 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. BSW Sixers were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American swingman Antonio Houston (196-88, college: Catawba) who led his team to a victory with 37 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Guard Hendrik Bellscheidt (193-90) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. BSV Wulfen's coach Heimo Foerster used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Jeremie Simmons (188, college: Ohio St., agency: SDJ Sports) answered with 23 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and guard Sascha Ahnsehl (186-86) added 17 points in the effort for BSW Sixers. Four BSW Sixers players scored in double figures. BSV Wulfen maintains tenth place in Group North with 3-6 record. BSW Sixers at the other side keep the fourth position with four games lost. BSV Wulfen will face RSV Eintracht (#11) in Stahnsdorf in the next round. BSW Sixers will play at home against Spot Up Medien Baskets (#12) in Braunschweig.
