Regular Season Round 6: Terceira - Ginasio 82-76

Terceira's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after six consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Ginasio (2-4) 82-76. It looked good early as Ginasio took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Terceira had a 18-11 second period charge getting the lead and Ginasio was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-82. They outrebounded Ginasio 46-25 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Frederico Tavares (194-88) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American center Chano Rashiduddin (208, college: Clark Atlanta) chipped in 17 points and 17 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Pedro Rocha (190-87) with 18 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Cape Verdean forward Joaquim Soares (198-83) scored 11 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ginasio's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Terceira went down to eleventh position due to points difference. Ginasio at the other side dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
