An interesting game for ChemCats Chemnitz (9-0) which played road game in Mainz against 4th placed ASC Theresianum Mainz (5-4). Leader ChemCats Chemnitz managed to get a 9-point victory 67-58. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of ASC Theresianum Mainz. The guests were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 17-7 run, which allowed them to win the game. ChemCats Chemnitz dominated on the defensive end, holding ASC Theresianum Mainz to just 7 points in fourth quarter. American forward Candace Williams (183-88, college: New Hampshire) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import guard Eryn Jones (172-90, college: Portland St.) chipped in 16 points. Four ChemCats Chemnitz players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Czech center Gabriela Jandova (190-73) with 19 points and American point guard Shanna Suttington (161) scored 13 points. ChemCats Chemnitz have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place in North with 9-0 record. ASC Theresianum Mainz at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Opladen. ChemCats Chemnitz will play against league's second-placed Berlin at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. ASC Theresianum Mainz will play against Quakenbrueck Dragons and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
