Bottom-ranked Arkadia Lions is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to fifth ranked Gmunden Swans (5-3) 103-83 on Sunday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Gmunden Swans. Arkadia Lions managed to win fourth quarter 19-6. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gmunden Swans made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Arkadia Lions turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. International Richard Poiger (202-87) nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and naturalized Dominican forward Carlos Novas (197-92) accounted for 17 points. Montenegrin power forward Radosav Spasojevic (204-92, agency: Interperformances) came up with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Jurica Blazevic (193-94) added 22 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Arkadia Lions in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gmunden Swans have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Arkadia Lions still closes the standings with eight games lost. Gmunden Swans will meet St.Polten (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
