Regular Season Round 9: Darussafaka - Pertevniyal 90-80

Leader Darussafaka delivered the eighth victory. This time they beat 10th ranked Pertevniyal (4-5) 90-80 in Istanbul. Pertevniyal was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 32-17 charge of Darussafaka, which allowed them to win the game. Pertevniyal was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Marcus Hall (185-85, college: Colorado) who led his team to a victory with 35 points (!!!). Serbian center Aleksandar Petrovic (204-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Darussafaka's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Naturalized FYR Macedonian Cedi Osman (195-95) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Anthony Brown (203-86, college: Oklahoma St., agency: KMG Sports Management) added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Pertevniyal. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Darussafaka (8-1) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place, which they share with Selcuk Univ. Pertevniyal at the other side keeps the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with Gelisim. Darussafaka will play against Yesilgiresun (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Pertevniyal will play against Baskent Genclik (#17) in Ankara and hopes to get back on the winning track.
