A very close game took place in Bremerhaven between ALBA Berlin and Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. Seventh ranked ALBA Berlin (6-2) got a very close victory on the road over 8th ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (5-5). ALBA Berlin managed to escape with a 1-point win 70-69 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. American forward Deon Thompson (203-88, college: N.Carolina) notched 21 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and Serbian point guard Vule Avdalovic (189-81, agency: Beo Basket) supported him with 12 points. Even 23 points by American point guard Stanley Burrell (190-84) did not help to save the game for Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. His fellow American import guard Stefon Jackson (196-85, college: UTEP) added 11 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. ALBA Berlin have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Loser Eisbaeren Bremerhaven keeps the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with B.Muenchen. ALBA Berlin will meet at home Bayern Muenchen (#8) in the next round. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will play against Mitteldeutscher BC in Weissenfels and hope to secure a win.
