Regular Season Round 9: Dresden - Noerdlingen 85-95

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Noerdlingen (5-4) beat on the road 9th ranked Dresden (3-6) 95-85 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Noerdlingen. Dresden was better in second period 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Noerdlingen dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Dresden's 46. Dresden was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for forward Josef Eichler (200-87) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Kedrick Johnson (193-83, college: Lee) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Five Noerdlingen players scored in double figures. American guard Jason Boucher (180-80, college: Grand Valley St.) answered with 26 points and the other American import Andrew Jones (191-83, college: Miles) added 22 points in the effort for Dresden. Dresden's coach Thomas Krzywinski rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Noerdlingen moved-up to third place in Group South, which they share with 5 other teams. Newly promoted Dresden keeps the ninth position with six games lost. Noerdlingen will face Hanau (#5) at home in the next round. Dresden will play against Licher Baeren (#6).
