Everything went according to plan in Porto where fifth ranked CAB Madeira (5-2) outscored 10th ranked Academico FC (2-9) 74-38. The game without a history. CAB Madeira led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Academico FC to just 6 points in second quarter. CAB Madeira dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Academico FC's 22. CAB Madeira forced 19 Academico FC turnovers. It was a good game for American forward Jheri Booker (183, college: Tennessee St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. The former international power forward Debora Escorcio (186-84) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four CAB Madeira players scored in double figures. Isabel Leite (-84) answered with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Joana Ferreira added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Academico FC. Academico FC's coach Mario Barros gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Despite that victory CAB Madeira went down to sixth position due to points difference. Academico FC lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth place with nine games lost. CAB Madeira's next round opponent will be higher ranked GDESSA (#4) in Barreiro and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Academico FC will play on the road against the league's second-placed Alges (#2).
