Regular Season Round 16: Aarhus BC - SISU 74-77

The most exciting game of round 16 in the Ligaen took place in Aarhus. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked Aarhus BC (5-8) to fourth ranked SISU (9-4) 77-74 on Thursday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Aarhus BC won third quarter 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SISU made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. SISU outrebounded Aarhus BC 40-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of international point guard Mikael Nielsen (178-90) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 4 steals. The former international guard Mike Flowers (194-86, college: Barton, NC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Randy Dezouvre (195-87, college: Iona) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Charles Funches (203-88, college: Hampton) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Aarhus BC. Five SISU and four Aarhus BC players scored in double figures. SISU moved-up to third place, which they share with Horsens IC. Aarhus BC at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. SISU is looking forward to face Horsholm (#7) at home in the next round. Aarhus BC will play against Vaerlose and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
