Regular Season Round 7: U20 - Cherno More 80-86

Bottom-ranked U20 (0-8) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to sixth ranked Euroins Cherno More (4-4) 86-80. Euroins Cherno More dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to U20's 32. They outrebounded U20 47-35 including 32 on the defensive glass. U20 was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American guard Larry Hall (190-83, college: W.Oregon) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and Nikolay Stoyanov (195-94) supported him with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Even a double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds by forward Aleks Simeonov (200-93) did not help to save the game for U20. Naturalized Danish forward Tencho Tenchev (202-93, agency: Interperformances) added 15 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Euroins Cherno More moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Tundja Yambol. Newly promoted U20 still closes the standings with eight games lost. Euroins Cherno More will play against Tundja Yambol (#6) at home in the next round. U20's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Sofia to the arena Lukoil Academik.
