No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Science City Jena (7-5) defeated on the road bottom-ranked USC Leipzig (3-9) 97-90 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But USC Leipzig won third quarter 28-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Science City Jena made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Science City Jena had a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Tim Schwartz (199-87) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Forward Kevin Wysocki (198-87) chipped in 19 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Harry Marshall (183-88, college: Indiana St., agency: Limelight Hoops) who recorded 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import center Chris Gadley (207-87, college: Canisius) added 20 points and 14 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Science City Jena have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Cuxhaven.
