Bottom-ranked Izmir BSB is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their tenth consecutive match to fifteenth ranked Bandirma Kir. (4-6) 65-58. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Izmir BSB won third quarter 13-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Bandirma Kir. won last quarter 20-15. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Izmir BSB was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Gilbert Brown (198-87, college: Pittsburgh) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Ahmet Cantitiz (193-92) chipped in 21 points during the contest. At the losing side Mehmet Sinan Ozgur (-82) responded with 10 points and 8 rebounds and guard Bugra Gacemer (184-83) scored 8 points and 4 assists. Izmir BSB's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Bandirma Kir. moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Istanbul B.B. Newly promoted Izmir BSB still closes the standings with ten games lost. Bandirma Kir. will play against higher ranked Pertevniyal (#11) in Istanbul in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Izmir BSB will play on the road against Trabzonspor (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
