Regular Season Round 10: Pertevniyal - Baskent Genclik 68-62
Date: December 1, 2012
Very predictable result when eleventh ranked Pertevniyal (5-5) won against 17th ranked Baskent Genclik (2-8) in Istanbul 68-62 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 6 points. It was a very good performance for American forward Anthony Brown (203-86, college: Oklahoma St., agency: KMG Sports Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Tayfun Erulku (193-94) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Pertevniyal players scored in double figures. American forward KZell Wesson (201-77, college: La Salle) replied with 12 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Eren Ocakturk (204-87, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Baskent Genclik. Baskent Genclik's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Pertevniyal moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Baskent Genclik keeps the seventeenth position with eight games lost. Pertevniyal will face Bandirma Kir. (#13) in Balikesir in the next round where they are favorite. Baskent Genclik will play at home against Yesilgiresun (#6) in Giresun.
