The game in Adana was also quite interesting. Third ranked Galatasaray (6-1) played at the court of 5th ranked Botas (4-3). Galatasaray defeated Botas 67-54 on Saturday. Galatasaray dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Botas' 30. They outrebounded Botas 39-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for Belgian center Ann Wauters (194-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. Vincentian-Spanish center Sancho Lyttle (192-83, college: Houston) helped adding 14 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Christi Thomas (191-82, college: Georgia) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Galatasaray. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Kayseri. Loser Botas dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Galatasaray will meet at home Canik Bld (#6) in the next round. Botas will play against Besiktas in Istanbul and hope to secure a win.
