DBBL top team - Heli Girls (9-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Don Bosco Bamberg (2-8) in Noerdlingen 75-54. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Don Bosco Bamberg. The game without a history. Heli Girls led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Don Bosco Bamberg to just 5 points in third quarter. Heli Girls made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 25 Don Bosco Bamberg turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Heli Girls especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. American guard Amanda Rego (170-86, college: San Diego) scored 16 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Dorothea Richter (176-83) chipped in 14 points and 5 steals during the contest. Four Heli Girls players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Janae Young (183-87, college: Pacific) responded with 12 points and 6 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Jessica Miller (173-88, college: Ill.-Chicago) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Heli Girls have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record. Newly promoted Don Bosco Bamberg keeps the tenth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Herner. Heli Girls are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Oberhausen (#12) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Don Bosco Bamberg will play against Osnabruck and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
