The game with biggest result difference took place in Klaipeda. Local Neptunas (5-3) outscored 11th ranked Sakalai (1-6) 106-80 on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Neptunas. Sakalai managed to win fourth quarter 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Neptunas dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Sakalai's 44 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Neptunas forced 19 Sakalai turnovers and had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Laurynas Mikalauskas (205-85, college: Virginia) who scored 26 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). International forward Deividas Gailius (200-88) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Neptunas players scored in double figures. Neptunas' coach Kazys Maksvytis felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Aivaras Kiausas (199-80) who recorded 19 points and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and forward Justas Sinica (203-85) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Neptunas have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Sakalai lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with six games lost. Neptunas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sakalai will play at home against Lietkabelis (#6) in Panevezys and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
