No shocking result in a game when second ranked Budivelnyk (13-5) beat 11th ranked DniproAzot (6-11) in Dniprodzerzhynsk 82-73. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But DniproAzot won third quarter 15-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Budivelnyk won last quarter 23-15. Budivelnyk outrebounded DniproAzot 39-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri, agency: Edge Sports) who scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import guard Malcolm Delaney (191-89, college: Virginia Tech) chipped in 17 points. American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Maxim Balashov (190-80, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 20 points respectively for the hosts. Five Budivelnyk and four DniproAzot players scored in double figures. DniproAzot's coach Audrius Prakuraitis let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Despite that victory Budivelnyk went down to third position due to points difference. DniproAzot at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 11 games lost. Budivelnyk's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Dnipro (#14) in Dnepropetrovsk which should be an easy win for them. DniproAzot will play at home against BC Kyiv and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
