Regular Season Round 10: Fortuna - Suduva 77-57

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Klaipeda. Second ranked Fortuna faced one of their biggest challengers Suduva. Host Fortuna (7-4) smashed guests from Marijampole (7-4) 77-57. The game without a history. Fortuna led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Suduva's 26. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Keiva Council (172-90, college: Loyola, LA) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international swingman Lina Aglinskaite (182-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Fortuna players scored in double figures. The former international guard Ela Briedyte (176-79) replied with 21 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Laima Rickeviciute (188-88) added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Suduva. Suduva's coach Stasys Zaliabarstis rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Fortuna have an impressive five-game winning streak. Despite that victory Fortuna went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with defeated Suduva. Fortuna will play against league's leader Kibirkstis-Tiche in Vilnius in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Suduva will have a break next round.
