Very expected game when 8th ranked Zalgiris-Sabonio (10-7) lost to second ranked Zanavykas (12-5) in Sakiai 74-86 on Friday. Zanavykas forced 21 Zalgiris-Sabonio turnovers and outrebounded them 38-27 including 16 on the offensive glass. Guard Edgaras Stanionis (193-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Guard Arturs Pelss (181-87) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Zanavykas players scored in double figures. Swingman Tomas Dimsa (195-94) answered with 18 points and point guard Vaidas Kariniauskas (200-93) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Zalgiris-Sabonio. Zalgiris-Sabonio's coach Tomas Masiulis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Zanavykas.
