Regular Season Round 10: Suduva - Utena 84-56

There was no surprise in Marijampole where 7th ranked Utena (2-9) was crushed by fourth ranked Suduva (7-4) 84-56. The game was mostly controlled by Suduva. Utena was better in fourth quarter 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Utena 44-32 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Latvian forward Sabine Dukate (174-93) notched 21 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international forward Laima Rickeviciute (188-88) supported her with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Five Suduva players scored in double figures. Suduva's coach Stasys Zaliabarstis felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 22 points by point guard Rita Milieskiene (175-78) did not help to save the game for Utena. American forward Vita Zilinskaite (190-93, college: UTEP) added 6 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Suduva moved-up to third place, which they share with Fortuna. Utena at the other side keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
