Fourteenth-ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (4-8) gave a tough game to sixth ranked EWE Baskets (8-4) in Oldenburg on Saturday. EWE Baskets managed to secure only two-point victory 63-61. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Deutsche Bank Skyliners won third quarter 13-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when EWE Baskets won last quarter 20-20. They made 30-of-37 free shots (81.1 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was power forward Adam Chubb (208-81, college: Pennsylvania, agency: Pro One Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Ronnie Burrell (204-83, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Pro One Sports) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Zachery Peacock (203-87, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Pro One Sports) who recorded 17 points and 5 rebounds and guard Quantez Robertson (189-84, college: Auburn) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. EWE Baskets moved-up to fourth place. Loser Deutsche Bank Skyliners dropped to the sixteenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Neckar L'burg. EWE Baskets will meet Artland Dragons (#6) in the next round. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will play against Phoenix Hagen (#11) and hope to secure a win.
