Regular Season Round 13: ETB Wohnbau - Leipzig 89-83
Date: December 8, 2012
Rather predictable result when thirteenth ranked ETB Wohnbau (5-8) won against bottom-ranked USC Leipzig (3-10) in Essen 89-83 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But USC Leipzig won fourth quarter 23-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded USC Leipzig 45-30 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American forward Logan Stutz (205-88, college: Washburn) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds. His fellow American import Joey Henley (196-85, college: Sacred Heart) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American guard Harry Marshall (183-88, college: Indiana St., agency: Limelight Hoops) answered with 15 points and 5 assists and forward Walter Simon (202-89, college: Cumberland) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for USC Leipzig. Four ETB Wohnbau and five USC Leipzig players scored in double figures. ETB Wohnbau moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Kirchheim and NBC. Newly promoted USC Leipzig stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. ETB Wohnbau will face higher ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (#10) in Allmendingen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. USC Leipzig will play at home against SC Rasta Vechta (#4) having rather not much hope for a victory.
