Regular Season Round 11: Wulfen - Dorsten 73-84

Very expected game when 10th ranked BSV Wulfen (3-8) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Dorsten (6-5) 84-73 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Dorsten forced 19 BSV Wulfen turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Christopher Jones (183-88, college: Prairie View A&M) who scored 18 points, 7 assists and 6 steals. Naturalized Albanian guard Nderim Pelaj (179-88) chipped in 15 points. Four Dorsten players scored in double figures. Dorsten's coach Torsten Schierenbeck used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Anthony Young (200-89, college: Ky Wesleyan) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and guard Hendrik Bellscheidt (193-90) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Dorsten maintains fourth place in Group North with 6-5 record. Loser BSV Wulfen dropped to the eleventh position with eight games lost. Dorsten will face Spot Up Medien Baskets (#8) in Braunschweig in the next round. BSV Wulfen will play at home against Herzoege Wolfenbuettel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
