Regular Season Round 13: Cuxhaven - Heidelberg 93-83

Rather expected game when 7th ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (6-6) lost on the road to fifth ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (8-5) 93-83 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Cuxhaven BasCats. MLP Academics Heidelberg was better in second period 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cuxhaven BasCats made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Scott Thomas (200-89, college: Bowling Green, agency: I.D.S. Law) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Evan Harris (206-86, college: Harvard, agency: I.D.S. Law) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Devin White (203-88, college: SUNO) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and swingman Janis Heindel (199-83) added 15 points in the effort for MLP Academics Heidelberg. Cuxhaven BasCats maintains fifth place with 8-5 record, which they share with Jena. MLP Academics Heidelberg lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Cuxhaven BasCats will face league's leader BG Goettingen on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MLP Academics Heidelberg will play against Kirchheim Knights (#13).
