Everything could happen in Braunschweig at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Spot Up Medien Baskets and 11th ranked RSV Eintracht had identical 3-7 record. This time Spot Up Medien Baskets used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Stahnsdorf 80-67 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Spot Up Medien Baskets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Spot Up Medien Baskets outrebounded RSV Eintracht 37-25 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Cuban Howard Sant-Roos (200-91) who had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!). Center Erik Land (205-90) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Blair Wheadon (191-90, college: W.Oregon) produced 20 points and forward Yannick Evans (202-86) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spot Up Medien Baskets (4-7) moved-up to eighth place in Group North, which they share with MTV Wolfenbuettel and Hannover. Loser RSV Eintracht keeps the eleventh position with eight games lost. Spot Up Medien Baskets will face higher ranked Dorsten (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. RSV Eintracht will play against the league's leader SG Schwelmer Baskets (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
